This project is totally not dead!

Yeah, it's been a while, I know. Sorry for keeping you waiting for so long, I'm sure that many of you think that this project has met its end but like I said: this project means a lot to me, I can't leave it behind just like that.

The reasons for this apparent lack of updates are many: I've had some run-ins with the worst part of my family, tragic break up, job searching, evading taxes, avoiding spoilers for the newest Ace Attorney (unsuccessufully, I might add) and other stuff. But who the hell wants to hear me bitching about my personal stuff - I'll just keep it to myself.

But don't worry, despite all those bad things, I've been working on the translation nonetheless. Just not so hard and frequent as I thought I'd be.

Still, I feel that making a post every fortnight would seem redundant: there's so much progress I can make in two weeks and there's not much to show you other than those specific translated lines. I'm a fan of big picture things.

I can safely say that Descriptions of clothes, weapons and items (also quest items!) are done. But there have been some problems with integrating this stuff into various version of the game (GoG and 1.0\1.1 versions) - some items are displayed correctly and some are shown as "???". I'll look into that.

As of now, I'm moving onto translating Quest Log. Thank you for your patience, I'll do my best for you, guys.

Even with all your personal shit getting in the way that's a really good job, I'm very optimistic of this project.

  7. Thanks for your work. I have your blog on RSS, but honestly I probably won't check back for another 6 months or so. Watching grass grow, and all. I definitely love and support translators who bring stuff to the community, though.

Man, someday I swear I'll take up Russian lessons. I'd really love to play this game in its original language. But well, I won't be able to do so in the near future so keep it up! Can't wait to play it with your patch! Thanks for the time and dedication you put into this :)

Thank you for all the work you're doing, Vladimir.

I understand that it's a mammoth project, and that it's not going to be finished any time soon -- but still, is there a chance that you could release your main.dat / Strings.vfs file for download? We fans would be grateful for anything at all :-)
